Virtual Production Planner
Virtual Production Planner (VPP) is a rigorous planning,
analysis and optimization module aimed at addressing the needs
of the production control group and the long-term planners.
VPP can be delivered fully integrated under the Virtual Pipeline
Manager or Virtual Asset Manager platform(s) or available
as a stand alone applications. VPP can be designed to provide
the automated generation of a recommended production plan (one-week)
for all production nodes based on gas and oil production, delivery
and quality requirements, short-term production availability,
contractual agreements between supply and delivery points, and
line pack management (reliability).
VPP also has a long-term planning (30 days to multiple years)
functionality that is performed off-line with the capability to
grab current or archived network conditions from an online Virtual
Pipeline Manager or Virtual Asset Manager system.
VPP's long-term planning focus is designed for optimization/scheduling
of a variety of operating parameters (e.g. tanker load-outs and
planned maintenance while balancing gas and oil delivery requirements
(volumes and quality); production and processing capacity limits;
contracts and penalties; and commodity pricing scenarios).

The VPP long-term planner employs a hybrid algorithm from the
Virtual Pipeline Manager "What-if" Forecast Module
to obtain extremely fast run-time speeds. VPP's long-term planner
functionality provides the user with a plan for production required
from all fields or assets on a user-defined time-basis (e.g. hourly,
daily, weekly, monthly or yearly) for the defined simulation period
(e.g. days, weeks, months or years). VPP can also be designed
to provide the planned deliveries and quality for all take points
at the same frequency for the defined period.
When integrated with the Virtual Pipeline Manager package,
the online VPP system can also be designed to track the operations
performance in accordance to the designated Production Plan (i.e.,
Real-Time, On-Line "Plan Tracking Capability") and can
perform "Watch Dog" functions to send an alarm to the
production controller or asset managers for nodes or assets deviating
from the said Production Plan.
