Virtual Operator (VO) takes the guesswork about running
and operating complex production, gathering and transmission infrastructure,
in both onshore and offshore environments.
Virtual Operator makes this possible by providing real-time,
on-line closed-loop control of operations, geared towards optimized
productivity and minimized operational down-time.
What is it...
Virtual Operator is a state-of-the-art control system that
assists pipeline operators control and manage multiphase &
single phase pipelines.

Offered as part of the Virtual Pipeline Manager system
or as a stand-alone application, Virtual Operator closed-loop
control functions eliminate commonly encountered operational problems
such as liquid slugging, sand production, liquid load-up, erosion,
compressor and pump startup & production blending.
Virtual Operator provides our Client's operations and management
with a field-proven tool to address the need for consistent operations
by automating the process of running their facilities.
What it is not...
Virtual Operator is not a SCADA nor a DCS system, nor is
it a substitute for one. VO works in conjuction with the SCADA
or DCS to provide closed loop control of operations.
Virtual Operators
provides the "Expert System" Intelligence Layer to the
standard, garden-variety SCADA/DCS system.
Virtual Operator retrieves data from a SCADA/DCS or a third-party
system like historians and information servers, or even human
input to drive the system modeled. VO in turn provides the client
with a more comprehensive understanding and visualization of their
operations, and automates the whole process of operations and
decision making.
Virtual Operator takes the measured data to determine optimal
set points for parameters that need changes (e.g. well chokes,
compressor speeds, processing equipment set-points, etc.) to manage
these complex assets efficiently and effectively.
In real-time, Virtual Operator evaluates the currect conditions
and forecasts the future state to ascertain that these set points
are right on the mark, within the desired user-defined operating
constraints and business drivers. VO then sends these setpoints
back to a SCADA or DCS for implementation, while at the same time
making sure that the SCADA or DCS did implement the set point
changes.
